This MT3 set is chonky well textured PBT that feels and sounds perfectly suitied to the EC switches.
I finally got around to re-building my BauerLite 0 with the new Dynacap EC switches. Unlike traditional mechanical switches EC switches activate by detecting changes in electrical charge, or capacitance, without physical metal contact points. I first tried EC/Topre switches when I had an HHKB 8+ years ago. They got to me good too—as did the split backspace, swaps for Ctrl/CapsLock, and Pipe/Backsp. But, I was never really a fan of the iconic bottom row. Since then, good custom Topre has become a real possibility—thanks to Cipulot’s PCBs and now Clever/Omnitype Dynacap gear. Now I can have that Topre feel in The Blessed Layout.

The R0 sliders/housings have a nice scratch to them that’s reminiscent of the classic Topre boards. I understand future versions will be dialing that back a bit. I had a custom plate cut so I could run the stepped caps—went with alu, but I think I’ll have to try polycarb next. Something about an all plastic build that I think will hit that classic HHKB nostalgia just right.
